As representatives of the Argentine Republic, we are delighted to participate in this year's conference of global cooperation under siege. As global tensions rise, the need for nations to cooperate and secure safety for the people of the world is ever present. Along with other international organizations: sending delegates to the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency (UNIAEA), World Health Organization (WHO), and the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) is a step forward towards global cooperation.

Recent remarks from Argentina’s president Mauricio Macri in light of hosting the upcoming 2018 G20 conference reads, “We will show that we can join the global conversation without raising our voice in anger, yet also without passively following the interests of others. Our view from the south of the world in the 21st century can be a bridge for diversity… [In light of this,] we have decided on the slogan for our presidency: “Building consensus for fair and sustainable development.” We will lead the G20 based on the principle of putting people first, with a focus on equality and sustainability.”

Being a chair on the Nuclear Suppliers Group alongside United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency (UNIAEA), Argentina believes in the exploration of nuclear energy, along with the regulations and failsafes used to prevent a possible nuclear disaster.

Argentina applauds International efforts to access health care and treatments, and defining standards for living alongside health risks. We plan to further this noble cause at this conference meetings as it pertains heavily to global cooperation.

Aware of “the plague of man” that is affecting our environment and the current climate change; Argentina wishes to make a step towards a cleaner future and a neutral carbon footprint and keep with the agreement to the Paris Climate Accords.

We hope as Delegates for the Argentine Republic, to represent our nation fully and work towards the conference topic of Global Cooperation Under Siege.
