Topic: Strengthening UN Efforts to Utilize Youth Training and Education Programs for Refugee Youth

 

Reminding all nations: That the success and vitality of our youth is imperative to the humanity and progress of every society across the globe,

 

Alarmed by: The growing rate of stranded refugees, many children are left helpless at the multiple host country borders,

 

Strongly supports: A program that encompasses educational components to further streamline refugee children into society by carefully integrating the children’s own cultural needs.

 

Having studied: The longer it takes for refugees to receive assistance, the further impoverished they become, making it more difficult to successfully integrate into host countries,

 

Recommends: The United States finalize their proposal to create the education and training program for refugees,

 

Reaffirming: The UN Security Council Resolution (S/2015/962) of 21 December 2015, draws the attention of the UN to the humanitarian issue of Syrian Refugees, the brutality and violence they face each day,

 

1.) Further Recommends: Refugee’s home countries assist in streamlining this transition;

 

2.) Calls: For all nations to join in creating and implementing sustainable programs in high traffic areas to integrate the growing number of refugees at boundary lines;

 

3.) Stresses: Creating sustainable and realistic programs for the refugee youth would also alleviate stress on the multiple host countries;

 

4.) Requests: Countries create quotas to evenly house refugees in host countries of their choosing.

Topic: Primary Education for Refugee Children

 

Aware of the serious economic and social turmoil plaguing the youth of war-torn countries such as Syria,

 

Keeping in mind that 36% of out-of-school children live in these afflicted areas

 

Recognizing the importance of education as an instrument of peace and empowerment for the youth of these areas,

 

Applauding the United Nations and its partners for their efforts in providing universal primary education through Millennium Development Goal 2, while

 

Further recognizing that more effort by way of financial support and advocacy is necessary to continue achieving these goals,

 

Reinforced by Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states that “Everyone has the right to education” and “Education shall be directed…to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms”:

 

  1. Supports UNHCRs previous efforts in conjunction with its affiliates toward achieving Millennium Development Goal 2,
  2. Requests the establishment of a subcommittee, the Committee for Administering Refugee Youth Education (CAYRE), to develop and oversee educational programs for refugee children in accepting countries.
  3. Recommends the establishment of minimum education goals and curricula incorporating basic language, math, and science skills by this committee.
  4. Reminds the general assembly that this committee will also aid the countries accepting refugees by creating jobs and facilitating the peaceful integration of refugee children into their new home.
  5. Accepts the donation of 500 laptops to be disbursed by CAYRE as needed. 
  6. Endorses the creation of this committee with 50 million USD.

Topic: Having studied urban and rural development of the world's population, impoverished areas are lagging without intervention; some will remain a full generation behind,

 

Alarmed by - the data provided by the International Rescue Committee that as many as 10,000 refugees are resettled in the United States annually,

Deeply concerned - when conditions in countries of origin are unstable or danger of persecution upon repatriation, refugees remain in settlements of another country,

Noting with deep concern - many host countries are unable to accept refugees permanently,

Noting with regret -underdeveloped refugee communities are absent of bio diverse systems to sustain their occupants,

Calling to mind - during the 57th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, "Eliminating and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls" was a priority,

Recognizing - that the fortitude of youth depends on access to and advanced education systems,

Deeply convinced - political and religious leaders do not address refugees are vulnerable after being forced to leave their homes and seek safety in another country without warning,

 

Insisting the fundamental needs of refugees is to have a safe place to live, supporting women right's, social, economic and environmental justice and sustainable development principles,

 

1. Recommends implementation the Abod Shelters Foundation (ASF) "Tiny Town"

campaign,

2. Congratulates ASF for forming self sustaining refugee villages compiled of 100

shelters

3. Endorses the $7000 dollars cost to ship and construction to build the 13x33x11 foot

shelters, suitable for 4 to 5 occupants,

4. Expresses hope to provide housing, healthcare, schools and technology centers, for

women and children refugees,

5. Encourages alliances of humanitarians from every region in the world, to support

the construction of these communites for youth to achieve a long prosperous

livelihood.
